A Poem about The HOLY BIBLE

A presentation edition of a GOD'S WORD bible

written by BeLinda Magee

Is definitely not liable,
If we do not understand
Of what ALMIGHTY GOD meant
Through HIS SON, JESUS – HE sent
To all mankind –
Men, Women, and Children,
Seeing or Blind

For those that are brave
Or for those that fear
For those that can or cannot hear,

For those that can or cannot talk
For those that can or cannot walk,
No good reasons to be made,
All excuses will have to fade.

By reading THE HOLY BIBLE it can enlighten our understanding,
To give us a smooth and safe landing,
Or to climb a very high altitude
Without being prideful or crude.

In GOD’S WORD (THE HOLY BIBLE) we can soar
Yet be humble to seek GOD for HIS WISDOM and more.
It’s for acquiring faith, comfort, and  GOD’S PEACE,
And conforming to the image of JESUS CHRIST
Unnecessary stress will have to cease.

To obtain knowledge, and wisdom, and learn about HIS unconditional love,
That only comes from OUR HEAVENLY FATHER above.
To learn to give HIM Thanks,
And to learn how not to yield to sin,
And to learn by using GOD’S WORD, this is the way to gain power to win.

Have you received THE HOLY SPIRIT because you believe?
GOD’S SON, JESUS, died and rose again for us to freely receive
THE HOLY SPIRIT who guides us into all truths.
THE HOLY BIBLE reveals infallible proofs.

By reading and studying THE HOLY BIBLE there’s help on all these levels,
And to learn how to love your enemies
And to learn how to resist the devil.

And to learn how to love,
And to learn how to pray,
And to draw nearer to ALMIGHTY GOD,
To know that JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY –

Put Off the old man & Put On THE NEW MAN

If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in JESUS:
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.
Be ye angry and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Neither give place to the devil.
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
And grieve not the Holy Spirit of GOD, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as GOD for CHRIST’S sake hath forgiven you.       Ephesians 4:21-32

If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

(The “OLD TESTAMENT FACTS” poem can be found in the July archives)

As we enter the New Testament
These twenty-seven books are quite relevant,
That GOD’S HOLY WORD is excellent,
Are quite prevalent!!!

Relate the spiritual battle of good versus evil –
already won.
These four gospels testify of JESUS’ good news,
With this information, none of us should lose.

The work of the HOLY SPIRIT appears in the book of ACTS
Read how the men of GOD deliver the facts.
Have you received the HOLY GHOST, since you believed?
If you have not, you can freely receive.

Then follows the book of ROMANS
About Paul’s spiritual letter to them – he’s not a showman.
He described powerfully the HOLY SPIRIT vs. the flesh,
They had no excuse to be involved in carnal mess.

When Paul wrote books, 1st  & 2nd CORINTHIANS,
Surely, his letters were to saints and not barbarians.
We learn about JESUS’ teaching and GOD’S AMAZING GRACE
Which is more than enough to stay in this Christian race.

Next, Paul appeals in the book of GALATIANS,
The people there required an exorbitant amount of patience.
Instead of the HOLY SPIRIT, they dealt with the flesh,
Paul’s letter to them corrected that mess.

With the book of EPHESIANS
There are many reasons
That Paul’s letter to them
Was for all seasons.
Blessed is GOD who gives us spiritual blessings in heavenly places,
We still have, although, idiotic cases.

When Paul wrote to the PHILIPPIANS at Philippi,
He wanted them to rejoice thereby,
Knowing the ALMIGHTY GOD is nearby.
And to think on those things that are good and pleasant,
To be joyful, and not be depressant.

In the book of COLOSSIANS, Paul wrote to them as well,
He always had spiritual information to tell.
He wrote about seeking CHRIST and those things from above,
That JESUS CHRIST died for us and rose again -this is GREAT LOVE!

1st & 2nd TIMOTHY,

These books mention inspiration, and not sympathy.
This always fits in the Christian society,
About the coming of the LORD,
To pray and give thankfulness,
And to always preach GOD’S HOLY WORD.

What a great assignment for one to afford
Paul encourages TITUS as a companion in the LORD
The book’s emphasis was to express Christian duties,
So that there would be no calamities.

The letter of Paul in the book of PHILEMON
About a slave and master relationship – not a heathen.
This proposes a very good reason,
To be received by the church there with grace during any season.

Next comes HEBREWS where we learn more about CHRIST,
We are reminded that JESUS was the perfect sacrifice.
Examples of faith and to follow peace with all men,
This book contains powerful chapters – more than ten.

Then there is the poignant book of JAMES
Which reminds us that faith without works is dead.
Effective and intense prayer from the righteous,
Avails much to be witnessed and spread.

1st & 2nd PETER, a Leader,
1st & 2nd & 3rd JOHN, dearly Beloved,
These books were written by men of GOD.
Exhortations to holiness,
To be followers of CHRIST,
To keep GOD’S WORD,
And to love one another, not strife.

In that tiny book of JUDE,
The ungodly are crude,
The ungodly are lewd,
The ungodly are rude.

Last, but not least, is the book of REVELATION,
Where GOD gave John an elevation,
To reveal to the nations
CHRIST JESUS is coming again is his affirmation.
Whether you’re at home, in an auto, a building, a church, or bus station,

(This poem was inspired by reading Psalm 12:1 and Isaiah 59:19.)

Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
Psalm 12:1

…When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah 59:19

You cannot afford
For your life to be bored,
And tangled with cares of this world.

Get in accord
It is a two-edged SWORD.

To fight life’s enemies,
Be clothed as well with SPIRITUAL ARMOR.

You can even say, “Help LORD”!
This is part of GOD’S HOLY WORD.
Then watch GOD’S ACTIONS which
cannot be ignored.

Moses with the tablets of the Ten Commandments...

Image via Wikipedia

written by BeLinda Magee

(To demonstrate GOD’S creativity resulted in this Old Testament poem by reading its powerful words.)

Beginning with emphasis,
Is the first book, GENESIS.
All creation is discovered

The Leader, Moses, with GOD’S People
Have an exit in EXODUS,
They didn’t know the solution
Would be aqueous.

The priestly tribe of Levi
Is contained in LEVITICUS.
When the people disobeyed GOD,
Now that was iniquitous.

Forty years in a journey
Can be studied in NUMBERS.
GOD’S rebellious people, though protected,
Did make many blunders.

Unfaithfulness and disobedience
Is found in DEUTERONOMY,
Moses spoke of GOD’S LAWS
But GOD’S people had a mind for autonomy.

JOSHUA follows the death of Moses,
He received GOD’S COMMANDS,
With new and unknown adventures
And everything that imposes.

Idol worship and rejection of the LORD
Resulted in JUDGES,
When GOD’S People were defeated,
They had many grudges.

Naomi and Boaz were loved by RUTH
She gleaned in the fields,
Also great-grandmother of King David,
And that’s the truth.

Samuel, Saul , and David
A prophet, and two kings
Are mentioned in a huge manual,
Which comprises I & II SAMUEL.

Good and evil things
Are the reports they bring,
When you read and study
The history of I & II KINGS.

As we continue, King David still reigns
There is nothing quite ironical,
Followed by Solomon and other kings

Then comes book of EZRA
He was GOD’S helper.
Praying and praising GOD
Surely, he was not a slacker.

Next book is NEHEMIAH
He knew GOD’S People would not tire,
As long as they had a “mind to work”
Their responsibility they would not shirk.

GOD’S People were hated
On the scene comes ESTHER,
Risked her life to become queen,
That was no conjecture.

Enduring great suffering
Was a rich man named JOB.
His friends thought he had sinned,
They foolishly began to probe.

The longest book in the BIBLE is PSALMS
With poems, prayers, praises and songs,
One can find relief in them
They produce a great calm.

Want to read a collection of sayings
And powerful statements that don’t disturb?
Including wisdom and poetry – superb
This next book is PROVERBS.

You will discover joy with them,
They speak of Wisdom and Poetry and Love,
No other like this that comes from above.

The book of prophet ISAIAH had a big task at hand
He spoke for the LORD to the people
About their future in the land,
As long as they had GOD in their plan.

JEREMIAH has prophecy as well
This book of war has a story to tell.
Although GOD was leading him,
He was put in a jail cell.

GOD’S People had greatly sinned
As a result, they were punished then,
Jeremiah’s sorrow brought his LAMENTATIONS,
With these people, he had great consternations.

Then comes a priest and a prophet, EZEKIEL,
Who warned of GOD’S PUNISHMENT and SWORD,
Sounds like some previous BIBLE BOOKS – a sequel?
If only the people would hear the WORD OF THE LORD!

Oh, the next great prophetic book, DANIEL
A good example with his friends,
Who taught us how to handle
Ourselves with integrity, prayer, and visions,
Not an inkling of a scandal.

These prophetic books tell what it requires
Not to sin and how to reap bountiful blessings
Oh, what great and inspiring lessons.

Inform you how not to get stuck,
And not to get set in your stubborn ways,
These prophets will help you all of your days.

These prophetic books remind us
That THE ALMIGHTY GOD will reward and punish,
That THE ALMIGHTY GOD is always nigh.
