Be Better, Rather than Bitter

We thank ALMIGHTY GOD for His Dear Son, CHRIST JESUS, Our Savior, who is complete and perfect. There are many scriptures to support this, however, I chose the following:

Hebrews 4: 4-16     and    1Peter 2: 19-24

Which category would these biblical examples belong?

Cain – Genesis 4: 1 – 12

Joseph – Genesis 50: 15 – 21

Jezebel – I Kings 16: 30 – 31;  I Kings 19: 1 – 2

Job – Job 1:22; Job 2: 1 – 10;  Job 42: 10

Daniel – Daniel 1: 1 – 17

Herod I (also known as Herod the Great) – Matthew 2: 1 – 16

The woman at the well – John 4: 4 – 20, 29 – 30

Judas Iscariot – John 13: 10 – 27;  Acts 1 – 16 – 20

Stephen – Acts 6: 1 – 15; Acts 7: 1 – 60

Paul – Philippians 3: 1 – 14

As modern day Christians, are we acting bitter, or getting better all the time?

At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy; being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.  He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.        Titus 3: 3 – 7

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not be conceited, provoking and enacting each other. Galatians 5:25-26 (NIV)

“I can’t breathe”

The longer we live on this earth, we discover how conflicts with people, situations, circumstances, and social injustices may arise resulting in anger.

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25 NIV

In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
and do not give the devil a foothold.
Ephesians 4:26-27 NIV

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:21 NIV

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
James 1:19-20 NIV

TEMPTATION IS COMMON

“Be not deceived; GOD is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7

T – There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but GOD is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinth. 10:13

E – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

M – My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; James 1: 2

P – Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

T – The LORD knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: 2 Peter 2:9

A And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matthew 6:13

T – Then saith JESUS unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the LORD thy GOD, and him only shalt thou serve. Matthew 4:10

I – If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and His Word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10

O – O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Psalm 119:5

N – Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt CHRIST, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon the ends if the world are come. 1Corinthians 10:6-13

HEAVENLY FATHER,

HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME. I thank YOU for this day because this is the day that YOU have made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, YOUR NAME is to be praised. I thank YOU for being THE MOST HIGH GOD and GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS. Thank you for being OUR LIGHT and OUR SALVATION and our SHEPHERD and therefore, we shall not want for anything. Create in us a clean heart, O GOD, and renew in us a right spirit. Make us to know the measure of our days and our end and just how frail we are. Because GOD YOU know our frame and know that we are dust. Let not our enemies triumph over us. Teach us to love our enemies and to pray for those that use us spitefully. Let us learn to forgive others of their debts and trespasses so that we will be forgiven. Thank you LORD for forgiving all our iniquities, and for healing all our diseases, and for redeeming our lives from destruction, and for crowning us with loving kindness and tender mercies. Order our steps IN YOUR WORD and let not any iniquity have dominion over us. O GOD, strengthen our hands and open our eyes that we may see spiritually so that we can walk by faith and not by natural eyesight alone. Let YOUR WILL be done on earth as it is in HEAVEN. Thank YOU for being THE GREAT I AM, and JEHOVAH JIREH, JEHOVAH NISSI, JEHOVAH SHALOM, JEHOVAH ROPHE, and even JEHOVAH TSIDKENU and so much more. In JESUS’ NAME, Amen.
