People…Just For Thought

(The following article is a contribution from a Christian Newspaper in Jacksonville, Florida, entitled, “The Christian Reader”, November 2006.)

Many people will walk in and out of your life,
But only true friends will leave footprints in your heart

To handle yourself, use your head;
To handle others, use your heart.

Anger is only one letter short of danger.

If someone betrays once, it is his fault;
If he betrays you twice, it is your fault.

Great minds discuss ideas;
Average minds discuss events;
Small minds discuss people.

He who loses money, loses much;
He who loses a friend, loses much more;
He who loses faith, loses all.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature,
But beautiful old people are works of art.

Learn from the mistakes of others
You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.

Friends, you and me…You brought another friend…and we started our group…our circle of friends…and like a circle…there is no beginning or end…

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.

“I Shall”

(The following inspiration is contributed by Celeste Coleman.)

I shall be grateful for the breath of life this day. I shall try to be productive in every possible way. I shall ask for guidance lest my feet or sights should stray. I shall try and find the good in whatever comes my way.

I shall be kind to those that I meet for the kindness that I give, shall one day, come – back to me. I shall follow hard after persistence, tenacity and positiveness. And, I shall try and find comfort and fulfillment in knowing I’ve done my best.

These principles I shall practice until my journey’s end. by Celeste Coleman

Something to Prove

Homeless and hungry

God made us vessels – LIVING
Don’t let your bodies produce the wrong kind of giving.

You’re on display,
Don’t make it a dismay.

You don’t have to be nervous,
GOD just wants your reasonable service.

Let the world see from you and me

Help us, LORD

To understand YOUR COMMANDS,
So that we may live spiritually.

To understand YOUR LOVE and GRACE,
So that we may run this CHRISTIAN RACE.
Not to just seek a thrill.

Without FAITH it’s impossible to please YOU.
Satan tries to con and deceive us,
As if there’s something new.

Studying and applying YOUR HOLY WORD,
Will makeĀ us thorough to go through
A lesson to be learned,
But not to get burned!

Thank You GOD for Today

by BeLinda Magee

Thank you GOD for today,
YOU will help me to find YOUR WAY.

I’m already thinking about tomorrow,
Hoping it won’t bring pain nor sorrow.

I haven’t yet started today’s run,
Getting tomorrow’s anxiety before the setting of the sun.

Now I must get back into focus
No need to meddle and discuss
What tomorrow might bring
O Heavenly Father, for your GRACE to cling
Enough temptations and trials this day will bring
And pray to YOU and for me to do the right thing!

So I’ll praise GOD and simply say
Thank you GOD for today,
YOU will help me to find YOUR WAY.

There is a remedy
To fight that enemy
Not with weapons or hands

Will supply the sword
To conquer with Love, not hate
Participate with a clean slate

If enemy hungry, then feed ’em
That’s how you’ll win ’em
Providing them food
In that you’re doing good

If enemy thirsty, then give them a beverage
To give you that leverage

To trust what GOD has said
By the HOLY SPIRIT, that’s how you will be led.

Noah's sacrifice

by BeLinda Magee

And it came to pass that Noah appears,
Then followed the people’s jeers.

It took a long time coming,
There was a lot of humming,
Sounds of rain,
With it came the people’s pain.

Let me in! Let me in!
The Ark that Noah built with no other men.
Too late! Too late!
Noah and his family were the only eight.

The world will be destroyed no more by WATER,
Next time, by FIRE!

Twinkling of an Eye

by BeLinda Magee

What are you thinking?
What are you sayng?
What are you doing?
Who are you influencing?

Life goes by
In the twinkling of an eye.
Ain’t got time
To find out why
That GOD gave us life
Not for envy, division, or strife.

Because HE is from above,

1 John Chapter 4, verses 7 & 8, says it so much better than my poetry can. Notwithstanding, fleeting moments of wasted time in our lives robs some of us of what is important truly.

Final Exam

by BeLinda Magee

All of GOD’S SERVANTS want a glowing report from HIM about what they have done on earth for the KINGDOM OF GOD. Their thoughts and actions will reflect that they have excelled in one area, to say the least. Maybe they are helping relatives and friends and neighbors. Their care and concern for humanitarian causes, or for animals might not be neglected as well.

Can the people of GOD be caught off guard with the cares of this world? My answer is perhaps.

Moreover, Matthew 24:42-46 implies the intent of one’s alertness to pass the GOOD LORD’S FINAL EXAMINATION.
