(This poem was inspired by reading Psalm 12:1 and Isaiah 59:19.)

Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
Psalm 12:1

…When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah 59:19

You cannot afford
For your life to be bored,
And tangled with cares of this world.

Get in accord
With GOD‘S HOLY WORD -
It is a two-edged SWORD.

To fight life’s enemies,
With RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PRAYER that conquers,
Be clothed as well with SPIRITUAL ARMOR.

You can even say, “Help LORD”!
This is part of GOD’S HOLY WORD.
Then watch GOD’S ACTIONS which
cannot be ignored.

OLD TESTAMENT FACTS POEM

Moses with the tablets of the Ten Commandments...

Image via Wikipedia

written by BeLinda Magee

(To demonstrate GOD’S creativity resulted in this Old Testament poem by reading its powerful words.)

Beginning with emphasis,
Is the first book, GENESIS.
All creation is discovered
About ALMIGHTY GOD and HIS MIGHTY WORK.

The Leader, Moses, with GOD’S People
Have an exit in EXODUS,
They didn’t know the solution
Would be aqueous.

The priestly tribe of Levi
Is contained in LEVITICUS.
When the people disobeyed GOD,
Now that was iniquitous.

Forty years in a journey
Can be studied in NUMBERS.
GOD’S rebellious people, though protected,
Did make many blunders.

Unfaithfulness and disobedience
Is found in DEUTERONOMY,
Moses spoke of GOD’S LAWS
But GOD’S people had a mind for autonomy.

JOSHUA follows the death of Moses,
He received GOD’S COMMANDS,
With new and unknown adventures
And everything that imposes.

Idol worship and rejection of the LORD
Resulted in JUDGES,
When GOD’S People were defeated,
They had many grudges.

Naomi and Boaz were loved by RUTH
She gleaned in the fields,
Also great-grandmother of King David,
And that’s the truth.

Samuel, Saul , and David
A prophet, and two kings
Are mentioned in a huge manual,
Which comprises I & II SAMUEL.

Good and evil things
Are the reports they bring,
When you read and study
The history of I & II KINGS.

As we continue, King David still reigns
There is nothing quite ironical,
Followed by Solomon and other kings
This is I & II CHRONICLES.

Then comes book of EZRA
He was GOD’S helper.
Praying and praising GOD
Surely, he was not a slacker.

Next book is NEHEMIAH
He knew GOD’S People would not tire,
As long as they had a “mind to work”
Their responsibility they would not shirk.

GOD’S People were hated
On the scene comes ESTHER,
Risked her life to become queen,
That was no conjecture.

Enduring great suffering
Was a rich man named JOB.
His friends thought he had sinned,
They foolishly began to probe.

The longest book in the BIBLE is PSALMS
With poems, prayers, praises and songs,
One can find relief in them
They produce a great calm.

Want to read a collection of sayings
And powerful statements that don’t disturb?
Including wisdom and poetry – superb
This next book is PROVERBS.

ECCLESIASTES & SONG OF SOLOMON
You will discover joy with them,
They speak of Wisdom and Poetry and Love,
No other like this that comes from above.

The book of prophet ISAIAH had a big task at hand
He spoke for the LORD to the people
About their future in the land,
As long as they had GOD in their plan.

JEREMIAH has prophecy as well
This book of war has a story to tell.
Although GOD was leading him,
He was put in a jail cell.

GOD’S People had greatly sinned
As a result, they were punished then,
Jeremiah’s sorrow brought his LAMENTATIONS,
With these people, he had great consternations.

Then comes a priest and a prophet, EZEKIEL,
Who warned of GOD’S PUNISHMENT and SWORD,
Sounds like some previous BIBLE BOOKS – a sequel?
If only the people would hear the WORD OF THE LORD!

Oh, the next great prophetic book, DANIEL
A good example with his friends,
Who taught us how to handle
Ourselves with integrity, prayer, and visions,
Not an inkling of a scandal.

HOSEA, JOEL, AMOS, & OBADIAH
These prophetic books tell what it requires
Not to sin and how to reap bountiful blessings
Oh, what great and inspiring lessons.

JONAH, MICAH, NAHUM, & HABAKKUK
Inform you how not to get stuck,
And not to get set in your stubborn ways,
These prophets will help you all of your days.

ZEPHANIAH and HAGGAI,
ZECHARIAH and MALACHI

These prophetic books remind us
That THE ALMIGHTY GOD will reward and punish,
That THE ALMIGHTY GOD is always nigh.

Got Salvation?

We must acknowledge THE ALMIGHTY GOD as the CREATOR of everything and accept our humble position in GOD’S CREATION.
(Read Romans 1:20-21)

We must all realize that we are sinners and that we need forgiveness. There are no exceptions. We are not worthy of GOD’S GRACE.
(Read Romans 3:23)

Through JESUS, GOD gave us a way to be saved from our sins. GOD showed us HIS LOVE by giving us the potential for life through the death of HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST.
(Read Romans 5:8)

If we remain sinners, we will die. However, if we accept JESUS as our LORD and SAVIOUR, and repent of our sins, we will have eternal life.
(Read Romans 6:23)

Just confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believe in your heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead and you will be saved. There are no religious formulas or rituals.
(Read Romans 10:9-13)

One has to determine in his or her heart to make JESUS CHRIST the LORD of their life today.
(Read Romans 11:36)

Nothing shall separate us from the LOVE OF GOD in CHRIST JESUS.
(Read Romans 8:35 – 39)

Are You Ready to Accept GOD’s GIFT OF SALVATION?
If you believe GOD’S WORD from Romans, and want to accept GOD’S GIFT OF SALVATION now, it’s a matter of repenting of your sins and turning the rest of your life over to JESUS CHRIST. This is not a ritual that is based on any specific words or prayers, but a willful decision and a step of faith that is sincere.

Based on Ephesians 6:10-18, Paul speaks to present-day saints and the faithful in CHRIST JESUS also when he wrote to the church at Ephesus about spiritual warfare. This kind of warfare has been confusing at times with misunderstandings that an individual or persons can be the opponent when spiritual warfare is actually against certain kinds of principalities & powers, rulers of this world’s darkness along with spiritual wickedness. We cannot fight spiritual wars with natural means. In order to become effective and successful in our daily walk with the GOOD LORD, wearing the right kind of apparel is so essential.

(For the Head), put on the HELMET OF SALVATION, to become transformed by the renewing of the mind and this head covering will fit any servant of GOD.

(For the Chest), put on the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, so that vital organs will be enclosed.

(For the Mid-Section), put on TRUTH, which will strengthen fully.

(For the Feet), have them shod with the PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, in order to walk circumspectly and these shoes will fit any servant of GOD.

Be equipped with and apply the SHIELD OF FAITH, to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Be equipped with and apply the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is THE WORD OF GOD, because it is sharper than any two-edged sword.

Continue in PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION IN THE SPIRIT, to communicate with ALMIGHTY GOD.

Also, be on the lookout continually by WATCHING WITH PERSEVERANCE AND SUPPLICATION FOR ALL SAINTS.

(Read Luke 9:62)

2.”Looking for that blessed hope”…

A two-fold Lesson

by BeLinda Magee

Some scriptures have their effectiveness watered down when the hunger for GOD’S WORD is not applied to read them thoroughly or to study the conveyance of the writer of that particular Bible book.

It is important to quote or recite completely the Holy Word of GOD (especially in Bible teaching classes) because Satan used bits and pieces of GOD’S WORD to deceive Eve. Satan tried to deceive JESUS using that tactic; Satan was not successful, however.

Isaiah 54:17 is often misquoted in my neighborhood and, therefore, the full effect of it is not delivered to the hearer to increase his/her proportion of faith for the lessons to be learned.
